Galatians 3:1You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? 3Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort? 4Have you suffered so much for nothing—if it really was for nothing? 5Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?
We are winding down the last of the year 2008. The important thing to remember about following the Lord is that the end is just as crucial as the beginning. Ministry is like a marathon: its not so much how you start but how you finish. Many times we run out of steam right before the finish line. Paul was confused at how the Galatians could start so strong and then give out down the road. It still happens today. This month folks are exhausted from shopping and thinking about gifts, baking, preparing for family and traveling to see family. I encourage you today to keep trusting God and moving forward by the power of His spirit. He will be strong when you are weak. Don't let the entire year of progress be halted with an effortless last two weeks. Don't let the anxiety and stress of this life bewitch you.
It's Friday! Take a deep breath, put a smile on your face, lift up your eyes to the heavens and tell the Lord you are ready to finish this year with the same enthusiasm and energy that you started with. You can do it!
