Harvest Time

Jesus once told a story about a growing seed. Notice what he said...
"He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come." Mark 4:26-29
The kingdom of God is like a growing seed. Your life as a follower is a growing seed.Things of God are planted and scattered around and they grow. We don't really know how growth comes; it just does.
You can see it with our churches. Some grow large quickly and others take some time.  the speed of growth is not as important as the timing of the growth. The one central truth is that when God is in the mix, growth is definite. The growth is necessary because what is growing is going to be used to bless others.
Maybe you have been involved in starting up a ministry or outreach endeavor. Maybe you are a church planter. At times we seem to want to try and figure out how to make what we are doing grow and grow quickly. We should realize that growth is determined by God and it comes in "due season". Don't be disappointed if the growth isn't as fast as you wish. If God is in it, it will grow. The Lord is in control and his timing is perfect. Harvest time is coming!
