When You Pray

Again from Matthew 6 we find the instructions of Jesus. Verse 5 begins...
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him
Our prayers should be motivated by our desire to see needs met. Pray changes everything. Many people today do not pray because they are worried about saying the right words. They feel like they are not eloquent enough so they don't press in to the place of provision and power. Jesus said WHEN you pray. You must learn how to talk to Him. Let me make it simple for you. Maybe you are in a tough situation at work and the job is stressing you out. Maybe your life at home is a bit chaotic and you are getting angry too quickly. Perhaps your children are making some life choices that you feel are not going to be good for them and you want God to intervene. I'm going to give you a prayer today that will open the heavens, summon the power of the Almighty God on your behalf and usher you into a place of blessing and favor. Are you ready for this prayer? Repeat after me...Lord.....HELP!!!!!
You don't have to worry about language and articulation. Talk to Him like a friend and a companion. Be honest, open and don't shut down when you are desperate. He knows what you need even before you ask. He wants you to hear yourself being obedient so that your faith will rise and your answer will match your faith. This could be the day that life turns around completely for you! Pray!
