Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

Thank You Jesus!

Today I woke up and I have an overwhelming sense of thankfulness. I just feel thankful. Thankful to have my health. Thankful to have some wonderful children. Thankful for friendships. Thankful for an amazing group of friends called The Landing Community Church.
It was Paul who told Timothy "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service". Paul realized that there was something else happening...outside force being exerted upon him that was moving in him and through him.
Today, I realize that I am being positioned to be overwhelmingly successful. No matter what happens, everything is going to be thoroughly mixed together so that I come out on top at the end of the day. That is the way my God wants me to live! He counted me faithful. He placed me in service for Him.  He died for my sins! Now I am honored to do the best I can with what has been entrusted into my care.
So I just feel thankful right now. I'm alive and ready to do what I was created to do. In everything I will be thankful. Why? Because I've got a long way to go and I need to stay strong and positive. You might say it like this...
"Being thankful will keep my tank full!"
