Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

True Christianity

Romans 12:13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
For the last month or so I have had Romans 12 in front of me...taking it apart verse by verse and allowing the power of this text to strengthen my spiritual core. These verses are part of a section that describes how a gospel-centered believer should behave.
What could happen in your life if you adopted these ideas as a lifestyle? Contribute to the needs of your brothers and sisters in Christ. Seek to show some hospitality.Bless people that hurt you. Be sympathetic to what others are going through...good and bad. Live in harmony. And let peace rule wherever you end up.
This is the perfect way to end another week! Let the words settle inside of you and soon they will help transform all of you. Have an amazing weekend!
