Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

Here's my 911

Are you going through a difficult season? Does it seem like everything and everyone is against you?Are you overwhelmed by the struggles? Here's some good news...the Lord is aware of all you are going through and He wants desperately to help you! He wants to help! He is for you right now! And if God is for you, who can stand against you! The answer..NO ONE and NOTHING!
One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 91 which is packed with encouragement. In fact whenever I have these feelings of despair, I love reading this psalm.
Psalm 91:14-16 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
Did you catch all of the amazing help in that scripture? God says "I will" over and over. There is rescue, protection, answers, companionship, honor, rewards of a long life and eternal life too! Here is a simple way to remember that. When we need urgent help, here is my 911:
"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty". Psalm 91:1
You can live in His shelter and find rest in His shadow!
