Well Happy Monday morning to all of my cup of joe faithfuls! Hopefully the turkey hangover is gone and your bellies have retracted to their normal size again:) For more than a decade, at this time of year I am usually planning one of my favorite series called Christmas Cookies. I take some of my favorite spiritual treats and couple them with some of my favorite edible ones for an incredible collision of taste and satisfaction. There's nothing like a good Christmas Cookie! But have you ever been served a cookie that has been "over-baked"? It's a bit discolored, not too pretty and when you press down upon it with your teeth it just falls apart. Not delicious at all! Perhaps the same thing happens to us when we get a bit spiritually "over-baked"? We take a message that the Bible tells us is good, life-changing and soul saving and we discolor it, we take away its luster and we dilute its effectiveness. The Gospel was not designed to be difficult to understa

Filled with Hope

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV) Today people are on a find the best bargain ever...the most amazing sale...maybe even finish their Christmas shopping in a matter of hours:) If you have ever ventured out during a Black Friday experience then you know just how easy it is to get caught up in the event. It takes enthusiasm, determination and a ton of patience. I realize that while you are sipping your cup of joe, you may still be out looking for deals or you might have just returned home and be headed for the sleep you gave up to join in this adventure. My prayer for you is the prayer that I pray for myself. To be filled with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit and to have an over abundance of joy and peace as you trust in the Lord. As our trust account grows, so too will our joy and peace and hope will spring forth like never before. Don

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to wish all of you a blessed day today as you enjoy Thanksgiving with those that are closest to you. I am praying a special today for single parent families, those that are working and those that are by themselves and asking God to make His imprint upon their hearts today and bless them in a supernatural way. I am so grateful to be able to encourage people everyday with the Word of God and some tidbits of inspiration to try and make them smile.  I am also thankful that today I get to sit with all three of my children in Oklahoma and thank the Lord together for all that He has done and is doing in our lives. We have endured many hardships and they have struggled in so many ways. But through it all we have learned to trust in Jesus and know that each and every thing that happens is developing something in us that moves us closer to Him and His purposes. I am also so thankful for the new job that I will start on Monday and how the Lord orchestrated every step of the way.

Its the month that thanks and thankfulness are on our minds and hopefully integrated in our lives. Here's a little way to help us all say THANKS ... T - trusting the Lord with ALL your heart:trusting and believing you can do anything with God H -Hoping in the promises that you know are true...God can be trusted to keep His promises A -Anticipating the moving of His Spirit and more revelation knowledge to stay the course N -Noticing the variety of ways and people He uses to speak into our hearts and lives K -Knowing that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God and rob us of His joy S -Surrendering our agenda for His plans and purposes which leads us right back to the trusting Thanks to ALL of you that share a cup with me each day! May your cup always be running over!

What are YOU thankful for?

Today is the start of Thanksgiving week and many people are looking forward to getting a day or two off of work and eating more food than they should on Thursday:) Others will be working multiple hours because their jobs are service oriented. And after we spend a day being thankful for all we have, we will rush out early Friday to get more! Before this week gets away from us, lets take a moment and think about ALL of the things we have to be thankful for. There are people praying for YOU right now and more important than that, God has His eye on you and your situation. This is a great time to let go of grudges, release guilt and ask the Lord to allow you to experience true and genuine thankfulness. Thanksgiving can be different this year. It starts with YOU. So, what are you thankful for? Send me a note today so I can rejoice with you! (

Breathe. Exhale. Repeat.

How do you feel when you find yourself in a place that is unfamiliar? Someone once said that "nothing great ever happens inside the comfort zone." Whenever we venture outside of the boundaries of comfort we arrive at the unfamiliar, the unknown and we can become undone:)  I like to know where I am going and what I am supposed to do and at this point in my life things are changing in EVERY way. The places are different. The people are different. And now I have to find a new coffee shop to go to!! I hardly remember what the comfort zone was! Walking by faith always requires steps that have no visible landing place. If you can see it you can believe it. But when you and I must believe it in order to see it, well that is where it gets tough. Maybe things are unsettled around you today. Circumstances are a bit chaotic and your first reaction is to be filled with anxiety and stress. May I encourage you today to take a deep breath and exhale. Repeat that. Lift your eyes up to t

What I Learned

For the past several months most of you know that I have been going through a season of transition and trusting the Lord to bring me to a new place that He desired me to land and serve. I am happy to tell you that He has absolutely orchestrated my steps and has given me an incredible place to serve Him in Texas. At the end of this month I will be starting as the Associate Director of Table at Gateway Church. ( ( I am joining an amazing team of innovators and dreamers that are leveraging technology for the Kingdom and using it to help people grow spiritually all over the world. My hope was to serve a grand, God-sized vision and the Lord has delivered. I am honored to have this opportunity to be part of such an incredible ministry and look forward to how God will use it to change people and change the world. I’ve had several friends and family that have walked with me through this process, who watched as I left my comfort zone and were instrumental in pra

Sow What?

Sow for yourselves  righteousness,  reap the fruit  of unfailing love, and  break up   your unplowed ground ; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.  Hosea 10:12 Sow what? Sow for you! Imagine that...the idea of planting something for YOUR life! YOU will reap fruit…however you may have to do some groundbreaking things! If you want something you have never had you are going to have to do something you have never done. Break up the ground that is unplowed. It’s the first thing we do before we build…groundbreaking. We are seeking something so we prepare the ground to accommodate what we are seeking. The instruction is to break up the ground and get it ready for what is coming. God is getting ready to bless you and you want that blessing to find a fertile spot to land in. Some may ask how long do we seek the Lord? Hosea said it best… until He comes and showers righteousness on you . Seek Him until you find HIM. Until ALL these things are add

For many people these days, Thanksgiving is not filled with happiness and gratitude. I was wondering how you feel: does Thanksgiving store up positive or negative emotions for you? Watch this video on our YouTube channel! Thanksgiving?

Thank You God!

Every time your name comes up in my prayers, I say, "Oh, thank you, God!" (Philemon 1:4 MSG) Can you imagine being able to say this about those in your circle of influence? When was the last time that you actually thanked God for the people He has placed around you? Today let's remember that the person who wants friends needs to first be friendly! Where would you be without those closest to you? Where would you be without the Lord? Count your blessings today and take a moment to say " thank you God !"

Pure Obedience

There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that everything is taken care of. It reminds me of the way that the Lord prepared the disciples for His departure and what was going to come. He was letting them know that no matter what they needed, He was going to make certain that they were able to receive it.How does all of this happen?   Obedience... pure obedience . Sometimes people think that its what that do, the good things, the time spent, the money invested into what God is doing that brings the blessings. Fact is it is simple, pure obedience .  When we  fully obey  we start going His way! Deuteronomy 28 talks about this "full" obedience. When we fully obey we are blessed in every way! Blessed in the city and the country. Blessed coming and going. Our kids, our crops, our friends, everything that is connected to us can receive His blessing because we choose to obey Him. So as you prepare for this week, take a look at how well you are doing what the Lord is as

Increase Your Capacity

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom . Psalm 90:12 Have you been praying for some type of a breakthrough in your family, your business or your finances? I find that many times in my life I pray for something more to come and I haven't made any preparations for its arrival if it did! We need to increase our capacity for all that God wants for us. Life is short. We need to make certain that our will is in sync with what the Lord has for us. We will grow. Our relationships will become stronger. And everything that we need to live our lives in that plan will come as needed. Increase your capacity for what is coming. Live as though it is on the way. Talk like you are right in the middle of His perfect will. I believe that this is part of the process of getting yourself ready and in position for a blessing that will fill your cup !

Two Small Coins

Mark 12:41-42 Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, where people came to bring their offerings, and He watched as they came and went. Many rich people threw in large sums of money, but a poor widow came and put in only  two small coins  worth only a fraction of a cent .  I remember reading this scripture and thinking how intimidating it would feel to have Jesus standing across the room and watching me write my check to the church or fill up my offering envelope. I thought about whether the look on his face would be stern or would he be smiling and giving me a great big thumbs up! Seriously? Then it sank in. He knows everything about me. He has planned out my future! He knows what I give to the things He connects me to and more importantly, He knows what I keep! In fact He is watching me all the time. Jesus said the woman that put in two small coins was more obedient than all the others. Were these special coins...maybe rare ones? No! They represented the sacrificial giving that s

Glory to God!

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now all  glory to God , who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.  Glory to God, He is able! He is able to heal, able to deliver, able to provide, able to protect...He is able!  Glory to God! I think that believing this is hard because we allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by the drama that invades our life. We want to see God's power and watch Him work to change the situation. Don't miss the hidden gem in this text that tells you how to accomplish more than you ever thought you could. That power, His power is at work... IN US !!! That's right, inside of you today is enough power, enough faith and enough knowledge and skill to turn around any situation for the good. It can even turn out to be better than you ever imagined! More than you've thought of, more than you've asked f
