Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

I'm About to Come Alive!

It's funny to me, how life's course can help you to see and even understand yourself. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and look at you:What am I learning? Why do I feel this way? What should I be doing right now?
I've had the “wonderful pleasure” (sarcasm implied) of asking those questions and many more over the last several months. I am learning many things about my situations, but I am discovering so much more about me. The most revealing thing I've seen is how structured I need things to be. I don't like coloring outside the lines. I'm not a huge fan of mismanaged time. And I do not know how to rest. That's right, I don't know how to rest!
The point is that when you discover things about you, you should take steps to become a better you. God reveals what God heals. So you see the things that need attention and then you must decide to adjust. So when I realized that I may be a bit OCD with a dose of ADD, I decided I needed a large helping of GOD to better  adjust, adapt and rest.
How do you handle the lessons that life teaches you about YOU? The best way to put things back together when all the pieces fall apart is to find the owners manual. Inside that book are directions for repair and a map of how things should fit together. You were created in the image of God so your owners manual should be His Word…the Bible. Find out today how you were designed and what the purpose of your life is by taking a look at that book. My prayer is that it will come alive and that you will too! You are wonderfully made! And don't give up on me...I'm about to come alive!
