Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

Praying for Direction?

"Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
 On You I wait all the day." PS 25:4,5

I have always loved reading this part of psalm 25 because it shows us the dynamic nature of God’s guidance. It confirms the idea that God will be with us as we walk through the challenges and struggles of daily life.
Show me your ways…reminds us that as we seek Him we find Him. When we ask, we receive and He is glad to reveal a glimpse of His desire for us. The struggle most times for us in seeking God’s guidance is that we have already decided our own way before we ask.
Teach me your paths…implies that there will be lessons along the way. Not only can he provide a look at the road, He also walks beside you as you navigate it and helps you understand the journey.
Lead me in your truth…helps us to remember that the best way to travel is with the Lord in control. We follow, He leads. When you get that right, well, that is when you see more clearly the way and learn more about your path and yourself.

So if you are praying for direction today, take the progressive, dynamic guidance of God. He will show you His ways. He will teach you His paths. And He will lead you every step of the way.
