Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

As They Went...

There is a story in Luke 17 about ten people with leprosy. This illness prohibited them from human contact and personal interaction. They lived in a village with people like themselves and had no contact with anyone outside of the colony. One day Jesus passed by on his way to Jerusalem. As he passed by they lifted up their voices and asked for pity. They cried "Jesus, Master" signifying that they were appealing to him as a teacher. They did not ask to be healed, only to be pitied. Jesus gave them a task: "go and show yourselves to the priests". It was at that moment that we can see the ten experience something they have never felt before. Something inside of them must have agreed with the reliability of the One that spoke to them because they went at his command. And "as they went" they were healed!
Know this today in the midst of your life and situations.
When people can't REACH you, JESUS can.
What people can't TEACH you, JESUS can.
They obeyed the words of Christ and found themselves cleansed of this disease and transformed from the outside in and inside out. It all happened AS THEY WENT.
What if the Lord is waiting for you to take a step of faith? Stop looking for others to have pity on you and simply ask Christ to put His power in you! If you need to see a transformation in your spirit and circumstances, try taking a step of faith. One step! As you go, something WILL begin to happen. Your faith will begin to rise and agree with the Word that the Lord has given you and that is how wholeness arrives.
