Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

My Light

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
I love the declarations that are made in this scripture. The Lord is MY light...MY salvation. He is the stronghold of MY life. There is no reason to be afraid. Life throws a lot of things at us. It can change in a moment. But in the middle of the darkness there is always a light. When God is with you there is nothing; no thing that can come up against you that you cannot overcome. Fear will give way to faith and when faith rises up life is good.
Today I pray that the Lord becomes your stronghold and that He brings faith alive in you. Be strong and very courageous and the light of the Lord will keep you safe! Keep a strong hold on Him!

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. (Psalm 27: 4 NIV)
