Losing Our Identity

2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. One of the hardest things to do when you are unhappy, bored or disouraged is to not compare your life with someone else's. Some have called it a comparison trap. Oftentimes when we are idle or restless in our own lives, we seem to notice what is going on and into the lives of others. When this happens we lose our own identity. It's not wise to compare yourself to another person or your life to their life.  Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others. You are exactly the way you are supposed to be. Don't let the weakness in you affect the greatness in you. You have been given all that you need to be the success that God desires for you. Settle down and settle in to that best version of you that we all want to see. You are amazing!

Value Others

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, (Philippians 2:3)

It took many years for me to realize one of the most amazing principles in the Word of God. It seems to me that we are programmed within to be successful and that this desire to win often takes us in the wrong direction. For many years I wanted to get ahead of others, take care of myself and be certain that in this dog eat dog world, I would be the top dog. (when you're not the lead dog, the scenery never changes) But one day, I had an encounter with Christ and He became the Savior of my life. He showed me another way I could succeed.
The simple principle was that if I would value others first, He would value me and lift me up me in the process. Humility always brought me right to where I needed to be! When I humbled myself, God would raise me up.
Selfish ambition will wear you out. It will bring you nothing but anger, frustration, bitterness and envy. Always trying(in our own power) to be at the top is exhausting. It's time to give way to the Lord and let Him take charge. Exchange your power for His. Do nothing out of selfish ambition. In humility, value others above yourselves. God will always take care of you!
