Lesson Learned

In difficult times, its so easy to allow your mind to go to the dark side. We give way to anxiety, worry and doubt which causes a downward spiral of emotions. Fact is hurts hurt! And when you are in pain, its hard to think about anything else. Here’s some great wisdom-if you focus on the hurt, you will continue to suffer. If you focus on the lesson, you will continue to grow. Growing through the hurts is what we all desire. It takes discipline and determination to not allow imaginations and dark thoughts to rule your mind. The next time this happens to you, just say to yourself STOP! Reboot your mind and focus on what you are learning in the middle of this difficult season. Hurt people hurt people. Don’t be one of them. Focus on the lesson and you will continue to grow. #cupofjoe #lessonlearned

Trust Him

So how are you doing in dealing with COVID-19? This is one of the most unusual seasons I’ve ever experienced in my life and I am certain it’s that way for you as well. Why is all of this happening? Are we going to be OK? Why does everyone want 100’s of rolls of toilet paper? All great questions! But in the midst of so much of our every day life being disrupted, there is one constant. One person that is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. One person that will never ever leave you, no matter what happens. His name is Jesus. And He doesn’t need you to figure out what’s going on or even understand it. All He asks is for you and I to TRUST Him. He is not surprised or freaked out by this virus. He is the Great Physician. He is the God that heals ALL of our diseases. Trust Him. This too shall pass. #cupofjoe 😊☕️πŸ™πŸ»
Continuing this season of social distancing and praying for some relief and a cure for this virus. This has completely changed the way every one of us lives our daily lives. Today, I sit in the quiet of my living room, asking God to keep all of my family and friends safe. To allow every person to recover from this illness and for God to heal our land! He promises to bring good out of hardship. I will wait, trust and continue to pray until we begin to see it again!

Are You Waiting?

This week our entire staff at work has been working remote. Anyone that knows me realizes that I am not a fan of this type of work. I like being close to the people and being able to have face to face conversations. This week I used a tool called ZOOM for video calls. Unbelievably I interacted with more people this way than I usually do. Imagine connecting with more people while being disconnected! #socialdistancing I am still growing. Each and every day I learn something about myself and what I am capable of. I also begin to see a bit more clearly what the Lord is guiding me into.  Don’t get frustrated by the wait. Use the time to grow and you will be prepared for whatever the Lord has for you. The best is yet to come! #cupofjoe #waitontheLord

A Word of Encouragement

Every person on the planet could use a word of encouragement right now. As we deal with this silent enemy called the coronavirus, we need to do what we can to stay connected by text, phone and video. I have to admit, staying home inside a one bedroom apartment is driving me crazy!! Fortunately, I can take long walks outside, pray, read and listen to music to lift my spirits up.  Our office even decided to work remote so this will be the new normal. Is it tough? Yes. Impossible? Not at all. I’m using the time to take care of myself and do whatever I can to stay connected to others.  And I always try to send some encouragement because I know how crucial it is. Know this: I am praying for you and your family today. I’m praying that you will have divine health and take advantage of family time and being together. Good things are going to come from all of this. They already are. Be strong and trust in the Lord and the power of His might.  #cupofjoe #encourageothers

Ripple Effect

If you have ever dropped a rock into a still pond, you have seen what is referred to as the ripple effect. There is an impact in the place where the rock hit the water but then there are ripples that travel outward from that spot and continue to move the water throughout the pond. You’ve seen this happen as the coronavirus spread throughout the world. We are all feeling the ripple effect. It all began in one spot. What if we started another ripple of good? One act of kindness can have a ripple effect throughout a community, a city, a state and even the world. So as you do your best to endure this season and practice “social distancing”, know that this one decision is impacting many lives and the fact is, it will save even more. You may not ever see the people that you helped with this self-less decision. It may be difficult for you but just imagine what that one decision could do for everyone. One by one, this is how we turn the tide and change the outcome. It’s hard right now f

Trust Leads to Triumph

Today my heart is heavy for our country and others as well that are dealing with this virus that has changed the way we live our lives. People are always scared by what they do not know or understand. We should be concerned. We should also be Christ dependent. When I saw this image I noticed words that make up the type of person that I want to be: sweet, strong, human, humble and still going!  Fact is we cannot predict when things like this will happen and when they come upon us in enormous waves as the coronavirus has, we need to prepare, be careful and completely and undeniably trust in God.  We have limited knowledge and strength but with God ALL things are possible. We are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. And when we come through all of this to the other side, we will see His hand upon us and thank Him for what we learned and how this pandemic drew us closer to Him.  Be sweet to each other. Pray. Stay strong. Be mindful of all that is going on around you.

We Repeat What We Don’t Repair

Patterns of behavior happen all the time. History shows us this in many ways. In my daily journal entries I am able to see things I was thinking and feeling and in years past. It’s so interesting to me to see that I often experience the same things over and over again. That goes for the good times and the bad. My attitudes are impacted like this too. It teaches me that I will repeat what I don’t repair. Of course I want to repair the broken times. I want to eliminate bad habits so that I never see those things repeat again. How I fix what is broken is by taken it to the manufacturer. I surrender to the Lord ( my Creator) those things I am unable to handle and the attitudes I hope to change. When He is in charge, there is no more repeat. It’s not just repaired, it’s renewed!  What are some patterns in your life that you would like to change? Anything that you’re tired of repeating? Give it to the Lord today. He won’t just repair it, He will make all things new again!

What Makes Up a Great Leader?

What makes up a great leader? Today’s quote provides us a few characteristics. Their actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and to become more. The function of leadership is to produce more leaders NOT more followers. A true leader has the confidence to stand alone. They listen to others and extend a great deal of compassion when necessary. They have integrity and a tremendous amount of courage that always seems to show up at just the right time. A leader doesn’t always do great things but they get others to do great things. An effective leader can turn a vision into reality.  For everyone of you out there that is a leader, thank you for leading well and for giving to others, often at the expense of yourself. #cupofjoe 😊☕️πŸ™πŸ»

Blessings in Disguise

Life will punch you in the face sometimes. Why?  Because we live in a world filled with imperfect people and hearts full of pride and envy. I can recall so many times when the wind was simply knocked out of my sails. But you know what? By the time that all was said and done, I came out better than I was when I went it! Oscar Wilde once said, “What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise.” I may not know what you are going through right now but I do know Who is going to pull you through. Trust in the Lord. Be patient. Pray. I believe that the windows of heaven will drop blessings on you as you wait on the Lord.  #cupofjoe #blessingsindisguise 😊☕️πŸ™πŸ»

Be Strong and Immovable

I absolutely love this reminder today! I need to speak these words to myself at times, especially when I might be feeling overwhelmed. Be strong. You are immovable. Most of the time I don’t realize how strong I am until being strong is my only option. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord. When we approach what we do with enthusiasm, it’s contagious to those round us. Happiness spreads just as easily as discontent does. Choose wisely. And remember that all we are doing is for the Lord who gave us the ability and the opportunity to do it.  It’s that mindset and approach which makes it possible to truly understand that nothing you do is ever useless. Be strong. You’ve got this! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»☕️ #cupofjoe

It’s a Slow Process

Most of the time things don’t move as fast as you would like them to. Be it a relationship, a promotion, or moving to a new location, all seem to be a slower process than what we would like. Today’s simple reminder helps me to smile and just stay the course. It’s a slow process, but quitting won’t speed it up. It’s always too soon to quit. Buckle in, ride it out and trust in the Lord because He is good and He wants the very best for you in EVERY situation. It’s a new month with so many wonderful possibilities and opportunities for you. Don’t quit. MARCH on! #cupofjoe #dontquit πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜Š☕️
