It's often tough to rejoice when we run into problems. Nobody ever says, "yay, here comes some more trouble!" But according to scripture, we can rejoice when we run into problems and trials. How is this even possible? Because we know that they are helping to develop endurance in us. Trials make us stronger. And we also know that God is able to make ALL things work together for our good. At some point this will all make sense and you will see that the hand of God has been involved through it all. So take a deep breath. Lift up your head and smile. Your spiritual muscles are growing!

Take a Step

Take that first step. Even if you are unsure, step out in faith.  Everything begins to open up when you do!

Zeal the Deal

I try to stay pretty enthusiastic about the things I participate in. It seems natural for me to have additional energy and positivity if I am doing things that I like. So when it comes to reading the Bible, praying, serving the Lord and sharing my faith, I would be worried if I did not have that same zeal. Zeal is great energy energy and enthusiasm used in pursuit of an objective or cause. The Bible tells us that we should never be lacking in that energy and enthusiasm and should always keep our spiritual fervor. Don't be lazy about it! Remember that your zeal can be highly contagious and help someone else to draw closer to the Lord too. Let's never be lacking in ZEAL! #zealthedeal

Peace is such a valuable part of life. All of us want more of it. Most of us have no idea how to get it. The Bible tells us that we can attain peace. In Philippians 4:6 it says " Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." This is the path to God's peace. Don't worry. Pray. You may not understand  what's  going on but this peace will calm you and the chaos. Guard it with all your strength. Because if anything costs you your peace, it's too expensive.

Stay in Your Light

You do not have to react or respond to everything that happens in and around your life. Sometimes the best thing you can do is to do nothing. Often the best thing to say is nothing. Be disciplined. Pray first. Listen. Stay in your light.

You've undoubtedly heard the phrase, "everything happens for a reason." It's not a very comforting word to anyone that is going through difficulties. I would offer something much more beneficial to anyone you know that is having trouble. Try saying, "I know it's tough but I want you to know that I am here for you and I will walk through all of this with you."  I do believe that God can take a mess and make something good out of it but I have never been good at predicting the time frame. I'm not as interested in the purpose as I am your presence. I like to know someone is walking alongside of me. Yes, I know the Lord is with me too. But having you there is such an added bonus! Let's do this together!

Window of Opportunity

Trust Your Heart

One thing that I have realized as I've grown older is that when I keep my heart healthy, everything else falls into line. That applies physically, emotionally and spiritually. The heart controls everything. The sooner I stop listening to my mind and the opinions of others, the sooner I can get back on the right path. So I encourage you today with these words: sometimes you have to stop thinking so much and just go where your heart takes you.

Oftentimes we think that our poor choices and bad habits negate any possibility of us having a close relationship with the Creator of the Universe. How could Jesus ever love a person with a history like me, let alone the mess that I am in right now?  The good news is that the grace of God is more than enough for any mistake that we have made. This unmerited favor and unconditional love of God can cover a multitude of sins. And His mercy is beyond measure. Today, I am so grateful that the Lord loves me in spite of my errors and gives me the opportunity to come back to Him any time. You can always turn it around with God.

Blessings in Disguise

Sometimes the things that seem to hurt us the most end up being what takes us into our most blessed season. Change is hard. Hurts are real. Pain is inevitable. But God has a way of taking all of this and mixing it together to bring about the absolute best for you and those closest to you. Hang in there. You are stronger than you think.

Keep Dreaming!

You have to realize that not everyone is going to like you or approve of you and the dreams you have. Don't worry if they don't support the dreams that God gives you. Those dreams are yours and not theirs. And your spirit will irritate them!

And remember that the way you leave one season determines the way you enter the next. Sometimes you will find yourself standing in the middle of where you were and where you want to be. In those times, trust God's timing. He may be clearing out the path for you and setting things in order before he brings you into that new season. Waiting is hard but always worth it!

Be You

Too often I think we try to act like someone else or talk like they would in order to "fit in". The best advice I have ever been given was to be myself. The world need the ME that God created. And you know what? I wasn't born to "fit in", I was made to "stand out"! So let me pass on that great advice to you today. Be you. The world will adjust!

Choose to be peaceful in any situation.
