Some time ago I read an article about someone that was doing a daily gratitude journal. Today you can find many existing journals that have a space for you to list a few things you are grateful for each day. Until that time, though I would consider myself a grateful person, I never thought about listing out those things. If I am honest, I never really thought about gratitude that way. I began to do so and was overwhelmed by how many things/people/places in my life I might have often taken for granted. Stopping for a moment to give thanks for them and express my gratitude helped me to understand the power that it has. It's very hard to be angry and grateful at the same time. I believe my countenance and my attitude shifted. Try to write down some things you are grateful for this week each day. Let me know how you feel when you do. The more grateful you are, the more present you become.
